Do you buy your chooks a gift for Christmas?

Do you buy your chooks a gift for Christmas?
I don't go so far as to wrap anything up but I do buy them a little something for Christmas.
I've bought them a metal food ball this year. It's like a metal wire ball which you fill with treats or greens and hang up for them to keep them entertained. Plus, it's so frosty here and we've had snow so the grass is hard to come by so hopefully they'll be thankful for the extra greens too!
So anyone else spoil their girls or am I just a bit OTT?

>Boredom breaker Food Ball on the pets at home site >
It's aimed at rabbits and guinea pigs and there's a bell at the bottom which I can see either scaring the hell out of my girls or annoying them to no end so I'll be removing it!

I spoilt mine for definite...I bought a nice size aviary mirror which is hilarious to watch them play with (from pets at home)! I also tied half a cabbage on a long piece of string and suspended it from a tree leaving it about a foot from the floor - they all but swung around the garden on it and kept coming back to have a go. They wouldn't leave it alone for long - again this was hilarious to watch whilst we ate our Christmas dinner; I'm sure I could hear them laughing

Ha ha thats so funny, pity you didnt video them.Me and my husband often have laughs at the girls expense,he will say things like " the girls are stopping in tonight with a dvd, bottle of wine & pizza" lol.The other week when it was very icy the girls came running off the grass onto the patio and were slipping on the ice,my husband says they need ski's and a wooly hat lol

Re: Do you buy your chooks a gift for Christmas?
I gave mine a present outside their hatch for Xmas morning... it was a large packet of dried mealy worms.
They ADORE them.
I just let the chooks roam at will around the garden, and they have decimated many plants already.
I shall have to make some kind of arrangement to stop them from eating things in the spring, but for now, they get wonderful exercise just rootling and exploring.
Daisy has made a nest in a far corner of the garden, and won't lay her eggs anywhere else, except when it's really cold, and then it's waiting for me in the nest box.
