Disaster!! pale

The next door neighbour's two dogs, one a terrier, dug through and got into my garden.
They had killed two of my girls before I could grab hold of them and throw them back over the fence.

My daughter and I spent last weekend digging wire down about 21" and backing with stones, to try and keep them out. Rolling Eyes
Relations with next door are NOT good atm. Laughing

Oh no! So sorry to hear about your ordeal. Crying or Very sad

By law, the owners are obliged to pay to replace the chickens killed by their dogs. I can't remember exactly where I found this information but if they object then I'm sure there's plenty of info on the internet.

I've found electric fence around the perimeter a great way to deter dogs... it sends the ones getting too close yelping and they rarely venture any closer after that.

How are the remaining hens doing? Are they in shock? Crying or Very sad

Just found this info:

If a dog worries livestock, then the dog's owner or the person responsible for it at the time, is guilty of an offence under the Dogs (Protection of Livestock) Act 1953 and may be sued for compensation.

Hopefully you won't need to push this with your neighbours but it's here if it's needed.
