We have 5 chickens (as well as 2 dogs, a cat, dozens of fish and 5 hamsters; hence the name!!) and have been chicken keepers for about 6 months, although my family had chickens when I was a child. Nora: Nora's just over 1 year old, she's a beautiful Maran and she's blind in one eye so she's often bumping into things but still has an uncanny ability to locate treats with extreme precision! The five of us girls used to live in Telford but were fortunate enough to be rescued by the Battery Hen Welfare Trust in February this year. They're like little kids getting into all sorts of mischief! I ended up becoming a human perch to 2 of them one evening...they just flew at me and landed on my shoulder.
