hen lost broody whilst looking after chicks

Post  madanchi on Wed Sep 26, 2012 12:54 pm

Hi everyone hope you can help me out. My hen has hatched 4 chicks and raised them beautifully but now this morning it has suddenly lost all care. She doesnt cluck to them, she pecks and chases them... theyre half size of the hen.

What I want to know, is this normal? We havnt got a cockeral either. We have a fairly large area for them all and we let them into our garden everyday, its a rather large garden too.

Thanks for reading.
