What's Your HenStory?

Post  What'sYourHenStory? on Mon Sep 29, 2014 4:59 pm

Hi there,

Some of you might already be familiar with us, but HenPower is a project run by older people’s charity Equal Arts and we are after a little bit of help from the chicken keeping community! I do hope this is the right place to post - if not, if someone could point me in the right direction please, I'd be hugely grateful.

The reason I'm posting is because we are seeking hen-keepers across the country in a research initiative aiming to unearth and share hen tales and chicken stories with ‘henthusiasts’ near and far. We hope to see the stories of more than 1,000 people captured through film, literature, photography and audio recordings; the overall purpose being to explore the cultural and social changes in hen-keeping taking it from necessity during times of war to a family-friendly hobby with hens being kept, sometimes, as pets.

We are looking for people to contribute their memories, stories and general experience of keeping hens; whether that be a couple of lines about collecting eggs when you were a child, or a filmed interview about a lifetime of chicken keeping – we’re keen to hear from anyone, no matter how big or small their story.

If you're interested in getting involved or simply just learning more, please do drop me a reply below and i'll organise an email correspondence and pass on more info!

I look forward to some of your cracking stories!  Wink

Best wishes,
